Switching to Sky Fibre
Switching to a Sky Full Fibre package could not be easier. Once you have entered your postcode via the Sky Fibre Checker and viewed the availability for your home – simply selected your required Sky Fibre service and place your order online. Sky will give you an activation date and contact your current provider. It takes on average 10-14 days for your service to be switched. However, you will be advised and contacted during the pre-activation date to keep you informed on how things are progressing. When possible (and in most cases), the cancelation of your old services and activation of your new Sky Broadband service will be arranged to coincide on the same day to minimise downtime.
If you are moving your service to Sky from BT, EE, TalkTalk, Plusnet or Vodafone, Sky will handle your entire switch. This includes giving your current provider notice, ending your old services and activating your Sky Broadband at the same time. If you are switching from Virgin Media, simply order Sky Broadband then contact Virgin Media with your Sky activation date.
If you are ordering the Fibre 35 or Superfast service, an additional £20 ‘may’ apply to your set-up cost if your property requires a new line or an old line reactivating. The total cost will be shown in your Sky basket after you have ran a broadband availability check, and ‘before’ you place your order.
If you are ordering a FTTP service, a landline is not required.
The new FTTP service is delivered by G.Fast technology. At launch c.2.5m UK households has access to G.Fast. Thereafter, an estimated additional 390k households will be rolled out each quarter. Please check availability above.
